Join a Growing Team Making a Real Impact in AlbertaEBM Geoscience Inc. is hiring a Senior Environmental Consultant specializing in contaminated site assessment and environmental risk assessment. We’re a Calgary-based firm with a growing portfolio of projects across Alberta and a need for experienced personnel to support project plans, technical reviews, and reporting.

What You’ll DoYou’ll take on a central role in technical oversight and project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing historical environmental reports and technical submissions
- Interpreting soil and groundwater chemistry data
, including spatial analysis and contouring using Surfer software - Developing and reviewing site investigation and remediation plans
- Reviewing and editing risk-based Phase II and III ESA reports
- Supporting regulatory submissions through Alberta’s One Stop platform
- Collaborating with field staff
- Contributing to project management and risk-based decision making
- 10+ years of experience in contaminated site assessment and/or environmental risk assessment
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, hydrogeology, toxicology, or a related field
- Registration with one of Alberta’s six regulated professional organizations (e.g. P.Biol., P.Geo., P.Ag., etc.)
- The ideal candidate would be trained, certified, and have experience using the Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST) for Tier 2 site assessments
- Ability to interpret and visualize subsurface data (e.g. contouring groundwater elevations, salinity mapping)
- Strong writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort working with environmental chemistry datasets
- A collaborative and solutions-focused mindset
We specialize in risk-based environmental site management for oil and gas sites with a particular focus on Tier 2 assessments, regulatory strategy, and site closure. If you bring experience with the SST, you’ll be stepping into a role where that expertise is highly valued and frequently applied. We support our team with internal mentorship and cross-training in Alberta’s evolving regulatory framework, including:
- Tier 2 Exclusion and Modification Protocols
- The SST — for salinity delineation, Tier 2 guideline development, and remediation performance assessment
- The Native Prairie Protocol (NPP)
