WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKEThe Facilities team at Calgary Airports supports the planning, operation, and continuous improvement of critical airport infrastructure that keeps the airport running safely and efficiently every day. Their work matters because it directly impacts passenger experience, operational reliability, and the long‑term sustainability of one of Canada’s busiest airports. By working collaboratively across engineering, operations, and maintenance, the team helps deliver safe, high‑quality solutions that enable Calgary Airports to meet its operational, regulatory, and strategic goals.
WHATARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES Support mechanical facilities operations and planning in the following areas:
- Asset verification, tagging and set ‑ up in CMMS /li>
- Utility consumption variance monitoring
- Mechanical system PM performance monitoring
- Mechanical heating, ventilation, and air ‑ conditioning (HVAC) performance studies
- BMS AI energy management proof of concept
- All other mechanical projects including but not limited to restoration and recertification of escalators and elevator systems, heating redesign, etc.
- To qualify for a Co‑op or Internship position, you must be enrolled in a post‑secondary program, which includes Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (3rd – 4th year) or similar discipline, which requires a work term as a formal component of the curriculum, and you must provide documentation confirming that the work term is an academic requirement.
- Experience working with technical data or performance metrics (academic or work‑based).
- Exposure mechanical systems, maintenance concepts, or asset management through coursework or projects.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Curiosity and interest in learning how mechanical building systems and facilities operate in real life.
- Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, or technical software, and a willingness to learn new tools and systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders in the airport community.
