Entuitive is looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer with experience in restoration of existing structures, based in our Calgary office. The role will involve projects that span the assessment, investigation, and restoration of structural systems for existing buildings, offering both office and field experience working collaboratively with the project team from initial evaluation through design to construction completion.

What you’ll do
  • Assessment of existing structural components (concrete, steel, wood, and masonry) and preparation of reports based on observations, investigation key findings, and recommendations for remediation.
  • Communicate directly with clients to ensure understanding of findings and recommendations, assist with prioritization, and manage client expectations.
  • Prepare remedial packages to be solicited for pricing from qualified contractors, including solution design development, detail sketching, working with BIM staff, and generating technical specifications and tender documentation.
  • Oversee the tender process, source contractors, chair pre‑tender meetings, and develop addenda to support the tender process.
  • Provide contract administration during project construction, including field review, submittal and shop drawing reviews, preparation of site instructions, and project schedule and change‑management (change orders, invoicing review, etc.).
  • Act as liaison between client and contractor throughout the project and assist with conflict resolution if needed.
  • Serve as a resource for junior staff, providing technical and operational mentorship.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5‑7 years of engineering/structural restoration project experience for existing structures, with experience using concrete, steel, masonry, and/or wood.
  • Experience in structural restoration of bridges and other transportation structures is considered an asset.
  • Professional Engineer licensed in the Province of Alberta.
  • Familiarity with Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) contract documents is considered an asset.
  • Ability to lead small to medium‑sized structural/building restoration projects from investigation, through design, and contract administration with limited guidance.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong computer skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete repair and restoration, corrosion protection, traffic toppings, expansion joints, and waterproofing systems.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is considered an asset but not required.

Compensation and Benefits
