We are seeking a Process Engineer to perform process design across gas processing and modular facility projects. This role integrates simulation, major equipment sizing, pressure safety and control systems, hydraulics, and piping/BOM coordination through detailed design and start‑up support.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension or transition into a permanent position if it’s a strong mutual fit.

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This role is based out of Enerflex 47 St SE location.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop and validate process simulations; generate and maintain PFDs and P&IDs through all project phases.
  • Perform sizing, rating, and evaluation of vessels, towers, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, tanks, and auxiliary systems.
  • Execute pressure safety and control valve sizing (PSV, BDV, PVRV, regulators), relief scenario development, and flare/header hydraulic assessments.
  • Conduct process and utility line sizing, plant hydraulic studies, NPSH evaluations, reboiler elevation checks, and drain/purge system design.
  • Define instrumentation and process setpoints; contribute to shutdown keys (SDK), control narratives, alarm philosophy, and safety documentation.
  • Develop and maintain line lists, piping specifications, and BOMs for equipment and inline components; ensure material traceability and constructability.
  • Coordinate with vendors and multidisciplinary teams to integrate technical data, support procurement, fabrication, design reviews, and commissioning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering;
    Currently registered as or Eligible for P.Eng. with APEGA (or equivalent)
  • 5–10 years of experience in gas processing, modular plant design, or pressure safety/hydraulics engineering.
  • Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., HYSYS, Symmetry, Promax) and familiarity with hydraulic modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of API/CSA/ASME standards, relief systems, equipment design codes, and piping specifications.
  • Experience in BOM development, vendor coordination, and multidisciplinary project execution.
  • Field, fabrication, commissioning, or HAZOP/LOPA exposure is considered an asset.
