What You Would Do in This Role The Project Engineer will work with various disciplines to ensure all engineering activities are accomplished.
Duties will include:
Directing and coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams to deliver project scope Planning, scheduling and estimating design engineering effort on projects to ensure timely issuance of all deliverables Providing status reports and communicating progress, ongoing issues and recommendations with the Project Manager and stake holders Support the Responsible Engineering as required in reviewing and approving designs and vendor drawings to ensure conformity with project specifications, company practices and good engineering practice Supervising complex engineering tasks to execute the project Developing a scope of work for a specific project deliverable (e.g., civil, piping, equipment modules and pipe rack modules among others) Coordinating development of construction work packages (CWP) Coordinating management of change documents (e.g., design change notices, trends, scope changes) Coordinating model reviews and other design reviews Preparing project plans (project execution plan, design basis memorandums, manpower budgets, deliverable lists, schedules) for engineering deliverables Approving all project technical documentation such as specifications, flow diagram, CWPs and plot plans Monitor engineering progress, support earned value reporting, and ensure compliance with control estimate and schedule Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance Quality Control process, standards, instructions, and work procedures Assigning and review work of subcontractor project engineering staff Preparing and update engineering control documents Monitoring design changes and contract extras Generating and maintaining project logs, action lists and tracking sheets Maintaining risk register and coordinate mitigation actions.
Participating in schedule review meetings Providing general support for all project management activities Performing other duties as requested Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied science Ability to meet safety requirements to attend site visits Two years of experience in engineering and design in related industries Excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal) Self-starter displaying independence and self-direction Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, piping, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation and CAD support Preferred PMP certification Experience managing several mid to major/large-capital heavy oil (SAGD/CSS) projects throughout the full lifecycle P.Eng.
