Job Title: Technician Asset Manager – Utility-Scale Solar (300MW+)

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Department: Operations & Maintenance

Employment Type: Full-Time | On-call rotation required

We are seeking a technically strong and operations-focused Technician Asset Manager to support our portfolio of utility-scale solar facilities (100MW+). Based in Calgary, this role oversees plant performance, maintenance coordination, and contractual compliance across large-scale PV assets.

This position blends performance analytics, maintenance planning, contractor coordination, and asset owner interface — all with a clear objective: maximize availability, optimize performance ratio, and protect long-term asset value.

This is an office-based role in Calgary supporting remote utility-scale facilities. No travel is required. Participation in an on-call rotation is required to support after-hours operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utility-Scale Performance Oversight
  • Daily remote monitoring and performance analysis of assigned 100MW+ solar facilities
  • Ensure compliance with contractual Availability and Performance Ratio guarantees
  • Analyze inverter block trends, SCADA data, alarm management, and weather correlations
  • Lead structured root-cause investigations for underperformance events
  • Track availability metrics and support performance reporting to owners
  • Maintenance Planning and Execution Support
  • Develop and manage annual preventive maintenance plans aligned with OEM and contractual requirements
  • Coordinate corrective maintenance activities across inverter stations and balance-of-plant systems
  • Dispatch and oversee internal technicians and subcontractors
  • Optimize maintenance scheduling to minimize downtime and reduce response times
  • Owner and Asset Manager Interface
  • Act as primary technical contact for asset managers and owners
  • Deliver clear, data-driven performance explanations
  • Support availability calculations and contractual performance assessments
  • Prepare scopes of work and quotations for major repairs or capital improvements
  • Major Corrective and Technical Projects
  • Coordinate inverter replacements, MV component repairs, rebuilds, and repowering initiatives
  • Support commissioning and return-to-service activities
  • Interface with OEMs for warranty claims and technical escalations
  • Regulatory and Documentation Support
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready operational records
  • Support compliance requirements for interconnected facilities
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance, outages, and corrective actions
On-Call Rotation

This role participates in a structured on-call rotation to support operational events outside standard business hours. The Technician Asset Manager must be comfortable making timely, structured decisions during off-hours while coordinating field response as needed.

What You Bring
  • 3–7+ years of experience in utility-scale solar O&M or technical asset management

  • Experience working with SCADA platforms and plant performance analytics
  • Knowledge of high-voltage systems and balance-of-plant components
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing maintenance workflows
