The Schulich School of Engineering seeks a Research Technologist specializing in asphalt materials. This full-time, fixed-term position focuses on advanced material testing and development, supporting eco-friendly engineering solutions.
In this role, you will work under the Industrial Chair in Bituminous Materials, engaging in the characterization and testing of new asphalt technologies. Your responsibilities will range from performing standard tests to innovative research using chemical and rheological methods. Collaboration with industry partners will also be vital in introducing new products and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute routine asphalt testing in compliance with ASTM and AASHTO
• Conduct advanced rheological and chemical analyses
• Innovate new asphalt formulations through various technological methods
• Lead field and plant trials while ensuring safety and quality standards
• Prepare and present detailed reports for stakeholders
Requirements:
• Technical college diploma in relevant field
• Experience in asphalt materials testing is an asset
• Minimum 5 years’ experience for high school diploma holders
• Strong computer skills, especially in data reporting
• Excellent organizational and teamwork capabilities
