Description:
As a Lead Piping/Facilities Designer, you will support projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization in order to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions to our clients. You will have the opportunity to expand your career by working on exciting and high-profile water, waste, and energy projects.
Your experience in the industry and/or consulting, as well as your project and people skills will enable you to make a difference in our industry and inspire new and better ways to implement engineering and water management solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently to apply design principles for 3D models and 2D mechanical equipment, piping layout or general arrangement drawings of industrial buildings and processes, ISO’s etc.
- Coordinate working between field and office and with other engineering/design departments.
- Assist in P&t, including drafting, correlating documents.
- Have working knowledge of stress analysis, design and drafting standards, piping specifications.
- Provide technical leadership for piping design activities across the North American business.
- Lead the development, training, and mentorship of piping designers and technical design staff.
- Coordinate and oversee piping design resources assigned to projects.
- Identification of gaps or areas needing improvement within piping design execution and technical delivery systems.
- Support the development and implementation of piping-specific design tools, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to broader technical project delivery initiatives as requested.
- Report progress of assignment to Piping Lead or Technical Manager.
- Multi-disciplinary experience, specifically structural and electrical, an asset.
- Possible trips to the field.
Position Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in a design role.
- Diploma in process piping drafting and design or equivalent
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements:
- Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of CAD 2D & 3D CAD drafting/modeling. programs, including AutoCAD, Cad Worx, Navisworks; proficiency in Microsoft word excel an asset.
- Experience collaborating in RevIT and BIM 360 is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and codes as required for piping design.
- Knowledgeable in ISOGEN.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
