Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team of professionals. You ll work on diverse projects for major clients in the Oil and Gas Industry, contributing to our vendor-neutral approach while handling everything from MOC (Management of Change) to Capital Projects.
What You ll DoDesign and engineer Control Systems, System Integration, Shutdown Keys, Control Philosophies, and P&IDs
Program, commission, and startup projects using multiple PLC and DCS platforms
Work on projects ranging from MOC (Management of Change) to Capital Projects for major clients in the Oil and Gas Industry
Create advanced PID control tuning and loop optimization strategies
Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Control Narratives
Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Collaborate on typical 3-4 month project cycles with project teams of 1-2 professionals

Technical Skills RequiredControl System Platforms: PLC Programming:
Rockwell Automation (RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000), Siemens (TIA Portal, Step
7), Schneider Electric (Unity Pro/Eco Struxure), GE (Proficy Machine Edition)
DCS Platforms: Emerson Delta
V, Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa CENTUM, ABB 800xA
Safety Systems: Triconex Tristation, Honeywell Safety Manager, HIMA
HMI/SCADA Systems: Wonderware InTouch/System Platform, Ignition, Factory Talk View, GE iFIX/Cimplicity, WinCC
Programming
Languages:
Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text, Sequential Function Chart (SFC)
Industrial Communications: Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ether Net/IP, Device Net, HART, OPC UA
What We re Looking For- Bachelor s degree in Controls, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline
- APEGA registration required (or ability to obtain within specified timeframe)
- 3+ years of experience in controls engineering, preferably in oil and gas
- Strong knowledge of process automation concepts (batch, continuous, discrete manufacturing)
- Experience with alarm management, interlock systems, and Safety Integrity Levels (SIL)
- Understanding of IEC 61511, ISA, NFPA, NEC standards
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary team collaboration
