ESC Inspector – Erosion and Sediment Control – Calgary

- Conduct onsite inspections at commercial, residential, and infrastructure project locations to ensure compliance with erosion and sediment control regulations
- Issue detailed inspection reports with corrective actions and timelines
- Work directly with contractors, project managers, and site operators to troubleshoot erosion control issues and develop solutions
- Assess the environmental impact of construction activities on wetlands, streams, and sensitive areas
- Provide technical expertise and answer client inquiries about erosion and sediment control best practices
- Ensure compliance with all municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulations
- Maintain all required certifications, training, and compliance records
- Occasionally work evenings and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines
- At least one year of experience in erosion and sediment control inspection, design, or installation
- Strong background in environmental sciences, water resources, or related technical fields
- Ability to identify compliance issues and recommend effective solutions
- Excellent communication and client management skills
- Physically capable of walking rough terrain, working in all weather conditions, and driving between job sites
- Strong problem‑solving, planning, and critical‑thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Bachelor’s Degree in Water Resources, Environmental Science, or a Related Field
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering plans and site drawings
- Certified Inspector of Erosion and Sediment Controls (CISEC Certification) – must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- Valid First Aid, H2S, CSTS, or other safety certifications
Location:
Hybrid remote in Calgary, AB (must be able to commute or relocate)
Job Type: Full‑time
Pay Range: $25 – $35 per hour
Schedule:
Eight‑hour shifts with occasional evening and weekend work
