Stantec’s Calgary Office is seeking a Project Manager (Engineering, Water/Wastewater) to join our growing team to help support the Water Business Line. - Focus on large municipal water and wastewater treatment projects but may also include pump station and industrial water projects. These projects include feasibility studies, conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, along with on‑site construction coordination for ongoing water and wastewater treatment projects.
As part of the Calgary Water team, you will lead the planning and delivery of complex municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning and execution of complex water and wastewater treatment projects and related infrastructure from pursuit through delivery.
- Leading and supporting project pursuits and proposal development, including defining scope, assembling project teams, and contributing to technical and commercial strategy.
- Managing project deliverables, administering contracts, and overseeing project financial performance, schedules, and risk.
- Coordinating and leading multidisciplinary design teams throughout all phases of a project lifecycle.
- Overseeing the preparation of contract documents, including front‑end contracts, detailed design drawings, and technical specifications.
- Building, maintaining, and strengthening long‑term client relationships through effective communication and delivery excellence.
- Coordinating and conducting Quality Management reviews to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Stantec and client standards.
- Foundational technical understanding of municipal water, municipal wastewater, and industrial water treatment systems and associated engineering design practices.
- Ability to apply engineering judgment at an appropriate level and recognize developing project issues and seek guidance and support when required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Access, Project, or similar tools is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to project team members and, with support, to clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage multiple tasks, and follow direction while meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
