Acero Engineering Inc. (“Acero”), a growing oil & gas facilities engineering company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill one full-time role as a Senior Process Engineer (12-18 month contract role).

Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, civil and structural engineering, and construction management.

Responsibilities
  • The project will include working with High Temp Froth treatment units, diluent recovery units, tailings solvent recovery units, gas / vapor recovery, etc.
  • Proficient in equipment sizing, simulation and hydraulic calculations
  • Writing process DBMs and reports – independently and comfortably communicating on technical and process matters
  • Preparing process datasheets for process equipment and instrumentation for RFQs
  • Keeping well informed of all codes and standards and having a good understanding of API, ASME standards, PHA techniques, Alberta directives and company standards
  • Developing PFDs, P&IDs and navigating isometrics and plot plans with full understanding of all the components on the drawings
  • Working on problems in which the analysis of situations and /or data requires an in-depth evaluation of numerous factors
  • Other tasks/responsibilities, as required
Preferred Education, Experience And Skills
  • Minimum Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering and registered as a professional engineer in the province of Alberta (APEGA)
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in oil and gas facility experience
  • Preferably has experience with High Temp Froth or Downstream oil & gas including distillation and diluent recovery units.
  • Expert in equipment sizing, simulation and hydraulic calculations
  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure and tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
