Field Engineer – Alberta
Worley Canada Construction is a leader in industrial construction in Alberta and western Canada, offering careers in fabrication, modularization, field installation, and professional support services for some of the world's most challenging heavy-oil facilities, gas plants, power-stations and other industrial projects.
Position Description
As a Field Engineer with Worley, you will work with innovative, fast-paced construction teams and project management professionals.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret drawings from all disciplines.
Compile information to put together and complete a Request for Information (RFIs).
Read and interpret P&IDs.
Work with construction crews to troubleshoot issues.
Work with construction manager and project manager to develop scopes of work.
Coordinate with various disciplines, including subcontracts, procurement and project controls.
Review and understand contracts and scopes of work.
Liaise with engineers on a technical level.
Provide ad-hoc reports to the project team as required.
Attend daily toolbox meetings.
Create subcontract scopes of work for the Subcontract Administrator.
Quantify field activities to ensure progress is accurate.
Help compile project reporting documentation for the Shift report.
Work with supervisors in the field to create and maintain FIWP.
Support the Materials Management group as required.
Create material requisitions for the project buyer.
Use Excel and other Microsoft programs proficiently.
Maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s licence (without restrictions) with a clean driver’s abstract.
Qualifications
Engineering degree from an accredited institution, with preference for a background in mechanical or civil.
Registration or eligibility to register as an EIT with APEGA.
Self-starter able to manage projects independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience reading and interpreting contracts, scopes of work and technical documents.
Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft applications.
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (without restrictions) with a clean driver’s abstract.
Work Conditions
Site-based.
14 days on, 7 days off shift.
