As an Senior Environmental Scientist, Engineer, Geologist, or Technologist
, in our Edmonton or Calgary Offices
, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.
The compensation range for this role is $135,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
- Act as a leader in the workplace using Onterris Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures
- Act as the technical accountable on various scopes (based on individual competencies) that may include:
Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments, Remediation, Risk Management Plans, Remedial Action Plans, and/or Soil Monitoring Programs - Work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects
- Lead communication with client’s program management teams and project-related stakeholders
- Provide support to project managers
- Provide senior review and approval of technical deliverables and scopes of work
- Prepare and/or review technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports, including regulatory submissions
- Work within a well‑organized and innovative culture with support systems that empower our professionals to focus on providing high‑quality solutions to our clients
- Transfer knowledge, share experiences, and support the training and mentorship of colleagues
- Be a senior member of our technical practice community that supports team and personal innovation, and growth and success at all levels
- A degree or advanced degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field preferred
- Experience overseeing moderately complex projects, including review of reports and technical components such as conceptual site models, drilling plans, cross‑sections, and sampling program selection
- Strong data evaluation skills and ability to make decisions based on findings
- Self‑motivated, possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), and strong leadership skills
- Willingness to provide technical direction and active mentorship to junior and intermediate professionals and project managers
- Registration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization AIA, ASET, APEGA)
- Experience with the Alberta Energy Regulator’s One Stop tool and working knowledge of provincial regulatory frameworks in Western Canada is also an asset
- A valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years previous experience in environmental consulting
- Experience and assertiveness in driving scope, schedule and budget for moderately to complex projects, primarily in the oil and gas industry
