Junior Estimator- Oil & Gas

Overview

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Junior Cost Estimator reporting to the Project Controls Manager – Estimating. This role will support the development, analysis, and benchmarking of cost estimates across various project stages.

This is an excellent opportunity for junior to mid-level professionals or recent engineering graduates with strong analytical skills who are looking to grow within fast-paced oil & energy projects.

Calgary, AB

Pay: $50 – $70/hour (based on experience)

Work Schedule:

Monday–Friday | 8-hour days

Full-time | 1-Year Contract

• Support the preparation of cost estimates across all D∓ (Decision & Management Process) stages under guidance
• Assist in developing estimate components, including direct, indirect, engineering, project management, completions & commissioning, escalation, and contingency
• Analyze and benchmark estimate data using internal and external metrics
• Contribute to the development of estimate basis documents and presentations
• Assist in preparing benchmarking packages across multiple project phases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support end-to-end estimating processes
• Participate in required corporate training programs
• Travel to project sites (including overnight stays) to support estimating and field activities

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 2–5 years of experience in cost estimating within heavy industrial and oil & energy projects
• Exposure to field construction environments is considered an asset
• Familiarity with Aspen Tech (K-Base) estimating software is an asset
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and benchmark cost data
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized, collaborative, and deadline-driven

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Must be based in Calgary, AB
• Must be comfortable with occasional overnight travel to project sites
