Position: Civil Engineer, Senior - Project Delivery Group )
Hatch is hiring an Intermediate or Senior Civil Engineer to work on several ongoing projects from our Calgary office. The role involves general civil engineering and design activities for mining and heavy industrial projects, including site preparation, grading, drainage, roads, and paving.
Responsibilities   Lead the civil project team to completion of assigned projects in bulk earthworks, site drainage, and mine and plant roads design.
Perform QA/QC of design calculations and contract documents.
Assume responsibility for discipline practice on assigned project scope.
Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary design teams.
Check and verify drawings and calculations.
Qualifications   Experience managing and leading projects within the Civil Engineering Discipline.
Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized engineering program.
Licensed Engineer in Alberta preferred.
Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience (mining, energy, or infrastructure).
Project Management experience on mid to large‑scale projects; PMP certification is a bonus.
Site grading, drainage, storm sewer, road, sanitary sewer, hydrology, and hydraulics design experience.
Proficiency with civil design software packages.
Experience designing bulk earthworks, site grading, storm drainage, access and haul roads, and earth structures for large-scale projects.
Strong time‑management skills and ability to handle competing priorities.
Experience leading, mentoring, and motivating junior civil engineers.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self‑motivated and results‑oriented.
