WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Role:

This Mechanical Designerrolefocuses  on the innovative design and development of Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) for direct liquid cooling systems. The position involves supporting the entire design lifecycle from concept to testing, collaborating with various teams and partners, and continuously improving product designs for enhanced performance and manufacturability. This role requires a strong mechanical engineering background,proficiency in CAD and simulation tools, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, drafting,and development of mechanical components and assemblies for coolant distribution units (CDUs) using Solidworks.
  • Create detailed engineering documents, reports, and presentations to clearly explain design ideas, test results, and recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Perform design and drawing reviews, submit engineering change notices, and support company engineering change management processes.
  • Build and test CDU prototypes, run experiments, collect data, and refine designs based on the results to achieve the desired thermal and mechanical performance.
  • Continuously look for ways to make our CDU designs better, improve how they’re made, and choose better materials to make them more efficient and reliable.
  • Support the complete design and development of CDUs, considering factors like how heat moves, fluid flow, sensor placement, cable organization, and how easy they are to manufacture.
  • Work closely with core teams, customers, and industry partners to ensure our CDUs fit well into the overall cooling system designs and that projects run smoothly.
WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in physical product design.
  • Familiarity with NPI, PLM, and PDM processes and principles of engineering change control.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of designing components for mass production using various manufacturing methods (e.g., sheet metal, machining, welding, casting, and injection molding).
  • Understanding of DfX techniques; design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Reliability, Maintenance, Test, etc.
  • Understanding of process piping, P& building mechanical design, particularly with respect to HVAC and fluid transfer.
Skills:
  • Demonstrable proficiency using Solidworks CAD to create detailed mechanical designs and manage large assemblies in PDM.
  • Drafting and review of drawings using applicable standards (e.g. ASME Y14), GD&T, and statistical tolerance analysis.
  • Design of electromechanical and hydraulic systems, electrical cabinets, and piping assemblies.
  • Hands‑on electromechanical systems integration, rapid prototyping, and testing of thermal/mechanical components.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
