Your future role on our team

As an intermediate environmental professional, you’ll support a wide range of project development and execution activities in the industrial (electrification and power, mining and linear development), commercial and private sectors. Your work will include biophysical evaluations, impact assessments and approval and permit applications.

As an intermediate biologist, you’ll perform various tasks within a multidisciplinary team and coordinate your work with project managers to deliver mandates.

With us, you’ll get the opportunity to spend approximately 70% of your time in the field and 30% at the office.

  • Support project managers in preparing proposals, including strategy, work plans, budgets and more.
  • Help deliver environmental impact assessments and related studies as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead and participate in field surveys.
  • Lead and participate in preparing environmental permit and authorization applications.
  • Develop methodologies, prepare sampling plans and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Lead or draft inventory reports, diagnostics, baseline studies and authorization requests submitted to government agencies for development projects.
  • Ensure project budgets and schedules are met.
  • Maintain effective and constructive relationships with clients and Synergis/BBA team members.
  • Identify cross‑selling opportunities to offer additional expertise to existing clients.
  • Promote BBA's environmental services, both internally to colleagues and externally to current and potential clients.
  • Participate in innovation efforts, developing new services and communication initiatives within the Environment group.

Summary of certifications and job requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in an environment‑related field.
  • From 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in delivering environmental projects (budgets, schedules, planning, work execution).
  • Hold a professional designation or are eligible to obtain one (e.g., Professional Biologist, Professional Agrologist).
  • Experience with field surveys (fish/aquatics, fauna and flora inventories, characterization of land and water ecosystems, soil profile characterization, etc.).
  • Good writing skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Asset: knowledge and understanding of GIS software, R and Python programming languages, and statistical modelling.
  • Asset: master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written.
