Field Operator

NSB Omega is searching for a Field Operator for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB.

Assignment Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Field Operator to support the daily operation of our oil and gas assets. This position is primarily office-based, with responsibility for monitoring field operations, coordinating maintenance activities, reviewing production data, and supporting field personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in oil and gas production operations and possess strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Monitor production operations and equipment performance through operational systems and reports.

Coordinate with field technicians, maintenance personnel, and contractors to ensure operational continuity.

Review production data, well performance, and facility operating conditions.

Track and report daily production volumes, downtime events, and operational issues.

Assist in troubleshooting operational problems and escalating critical issues when required.

Support preventive maintenance planning and execution activities.

Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards.

Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and reports.

Participate in incident investigations and contribute to corrective action plans.

Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimize field performance.

Support emergency response activities and operational readiness programs as needed.

High school diploma, technical diploma, or equivalent qualification.

2+ years of experience in oil and gas production, field operations, facilities operations, or a related industry.

Understanding of oil and gas production processes, equipment, and safety practices.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to interpret operational data and identify abnormalities.

Technical certification in Process Operations, Petroleum Operations, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.

Experience with SCADA systems, production monitoring software, or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Knowledge of well operations, separation facilities, compression systems, and production equipment.

Familiarity with regulatory and environmental compliance requirements in the oil and gas industry.

First Aid, H2S, or other industry-recognized safety certifications.
