Senior Technical Director - Mine Waste Dumps and Stockpiles
Step into a senior technical leadership role that will shape the future of mine waste management across British Columbia, Alberta, and beyond. As the Regional Lead for Mine Waste Dumps & Stockpiles, you will set the strategic direction, elevate technical excellence, and grow a practice that directly impacts the safety, sustainability, and performance of mining operations across Western and Northern Canada.
Responsibilities- Lead the technical vision for mine waste dump and stockpile engineering across varied geological environments.
- Drive innovation in design, operations, monitoring, and closure planning for mine waste facilities.
- Mentor and develop emerging engineers into confident technical leaders.
- Represent WSP as a thought leader at conferences, technical committees, and industry forums.
- Author and contribute to internal practice guidance and external technical publications.
- 15+ years of experience in mine waste dump and stockpile engineering across diverse terrains and project scales.
- Deep understanding of Canadian mining operations, particularly in BC, Alberta, the Prairies, and Northern/Northern Indigenous contexts.
- Recognized leadership in technical forums, working groups, conferences, or industry committees.
- Strong network within the Canadian mining sector.

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
