Overview
In Canada, our Bridge department has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Québec City. AtkinsRéalis also has a large international presence with over 700 bridges professionals globally, and involvement in some of the most complex structures in the world. The Bridges Department – Western Region, is looking for a Senior Project Manager (Bridges) for our team in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Manager, Major Bridges & West Region, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for carrying out project management and structural lead in the field of bridges and structural engineering projects.
This will include the development, analysis, design, evaluation, inspection, and execution of various projects.
- Provide project management for multidisciplinary bridge projects.
- Lead a structural design team for a variety of projects.
- Applying advanced engineering techniques and tools for solution of complex engineering challenges.
- Directing, coaching, supporting and guiding employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects.
- Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines.
- Preparation of proposals and participation in business development including publications and conferences.
- Preparing structural designs and evaluations, and contract packages for ATEC, City of Calgary and other key Clients including current policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.
- Overseeing construction services for active projects during construction phases.
- Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a Structural major). Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with 10 years in project management.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset.
- Experience with reviewing condition survey reports and making recommendations for rehabilitation strategy.
- Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, type of bridge, size and scope.
- Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Code.
- Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, Staad Pro, ETABS, Bentley Project Wise and Microsoft Office applications.
