Shape Alberta's energy future as a full-time Wellbore Engineer with the Alberta Energy Regulator, based in Calgary, AB. Contribute to the regulatory landscape of the oil sands sector.
As a vital part of a multidisciplinary team, your role will focus on ensuring compliance with key regulations while reviewing well applications and mitigating risks. You'll engage in activities from drilling to abandonment and ensure that operations align with the Oil Sands Conservation Act, contributing to environmentally responsible development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and review well applications for compliance
• Draft case-specific conditions to ensure risk mitigations
• Auditing and compliance assurance through site visits
• Communicate complex regulatory info to public and government
• Support data analysis for better decision-making
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related
• 5-7 years in wellbore engineering or energy sector
• Required P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation
• Proficient in technical communication and project management
• Understanding of regulatory framework in Alberta
