Position Overview
Junior Environmental Scientist – Calgary
Responsible for delivering environmental field and assessment services supporting project delivery while upholding a strong health and safety culture.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)- Participate actively in promoting a strong health and safety culture within the team.
- Communicate and coordinate with contractors.
- Execute field programs: collect and analyze field data from soil, surface and groundwater, water supply well drilling, borehole logging, and hydraulic well tests.
- Evaluate data and produce technical reports on groundwater monitoring, aquifer testing, soil sampling, and Environmental Site Assessments.
- Support project managers by developing work plans and project scheduling.
- Undergraduate (or graduate) degree in geology, geoscience, or environmental science.
- Relevant work experience in a related field; consulting experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients and contractors.
- Strong time management and organizational skills suitable for a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working safely in remote and extreme environments and weather conditions.
- Familiarity with Alberta regulations and guidelines.
- Eligibility to become registered with a professional association (e.g., P. Geo., P.Ag.) is an asset.
- A valid driver’s licence.
