Municipal Design Engineer

Location: Burnaby, BC or Calgary, AB.

• Preparing utility pipe network, site grading, access road, and drainage design using Civil 3D;
• Perform hydraulic analysis and modeling of storm and water systems, using stormwater, and water distribution network modeling software
• Formulating preliminary and detailed designs and drawings for various engineering and planning projects (municipal, land developments, and transportation);
• Prepare quantity and cost estimates, technical construction specifications in accordance with MMCD standards;
• Preparation of construction contract documents and special provisions, and tender documents for above works;
• Pump station design;
• Leading, guiding, and mentoring a team of technologist and Junior engineers

• University degree in Civil Engineering (Environmental or Water resources) from a recognized institution, or a college diploma from a Civil Engineering program, or equivalent experience;
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the design and construction of civil engineering works;
• Good written and verbal communication skills;
• Proficient in the use of analytical and design software including Auto Cad, Civil 3D and Micro Station;
• Ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment;
• Arc GIS experience/field inspection experience is an asset.
• A valid driver’s license is required

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $87,500 - $132,300 annually.
