Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) is a centre of excellence for transportation in North America, providing and supporting a safe, innovative and sustainable provincial transportation system and water management infrastructure.

• Coordinate maintenance activities across municipal and provincial stakeholders to ensure continuity of the transportation system across jurisdictional boundaries.
• Act as the primary liaison with maintenance contractors, municipality officials, consultants, and external partners.
• Coordinate access and activities within the provincial highway right‑of‑way for internal business units (e.g., bridges, construction, infrastructure).

• Partner with maintenance contractors to deliver safe and effective highway maintenance programs.
• Support planning, budgeting, inspection, and quality assurance to ensure services are cost‑effective and defensible.
• Contribute to maintenance specifications, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Participate as a member of the provincial maintenance budget allocation task group.

• Review roadway and traffic engineering designs for operational feasibility.
• Assess route surveys, consultant projects, and engineering proposals to identify risks and potential operational issues.
• Evaluate municipality and utility infrastructure proposals affecting provincial right‑of‑way.

• Ensure timely response and resolution of public and stakeholder concerns related to provincial highways.
• Draft correspondence and briefing materials for leadership.
• Represent the department in meetings with municipalities, agencies, and community groups.

• University graduation in Engineering, Applied Science, Geology, Geophysics, or a recognized School of Architecture, plus five years related experience; eligible for membership with the APEGA or AAA.
• Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience, or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
• Supervisory experience and urban transportation experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication and public relations skills.
• Experience with highway maintenance, operation and construction procedures.
• Highway and road planning and design experience.
• Knowledge of contract administration, maintenance standards, and relevant highway manuals.
• Ability to ensure adherence to the Highway Traffic Act, Public Highways Development Act, and Public Service Act.
• Creativity and innovative problem‑solving skills.
