Position:
Senior Bridge Engineer

LJB Canada, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full‑time role in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience on major infrastructure or transit projects and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and the clients we serve. We are looking for a motivated professional with a forward‑thinking mindset, strong analytical problem‑solving skills, and a collaborative spirit.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $175,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

Responsibilities
  • Leading a structural design team for a variety of multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Applying advanced engineering techniques and tools for solving complex engineering challenges.
  • Directing, coaching, supporting and guiding employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects.
  • Advising management and collaborating with other disciplines.
  • Preparing proposals and participating in business development including publications and conferences.
  • Preparing structural designs and evaluations and contract packages for ATEC, City of Calgary and other key clients including current policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.
  • Providing construction support and performing site visits as needed on active construction project.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, bridge type, size, and scope.
  • Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance‑of‑Way Association (AREMA) Code.
  • Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS and Microsoft Office applications.
