Join our Calgary Mining team as an Intermediate Mining Engineer (or EIT) and contribute to delivering high‑calibre technical solutions for global mining clients. You’ll play a key role in advancing mineral projects in a safe, cost‑effective, and responsible manner while growing your expertise alongside some of the industry’s leading professionals.
Your Impact- Support mine planning studies through scheduling, waste placement, pit and dump design, equipment selection, and cost estimation
- Contribute to mine design using industry‑leading software such as Deswik to deliver practical, optimized solutions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance project outcomes across technical and advisory scopes
- Assist in preparing bids and technical reports (PEA, PFS, FS), contributing to impactful project decisions
- Engage with suppliers to obtain budgetary pricing for mining equipment and materials
- Uphold and champion a strong “safety first” culture aligned with WSP and client standards
- Support continuous improvement through innovative thinking and technical excellence in mining engineering
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering
- Registered as, or eligible to register as, a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) in Canada
- 2–5 years of experience in open pit mine planning, with exposure to mine development or operations considered an asset
- Experience contributing to technical mining projects and technical reports in consulting or industry environments
- Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, ArcGIS, or Mine Scape
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting and presentations
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt in a dynamic project environment
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally and to remote project locations
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $85,100 – $112,800
MB & ON: $77,700 – $107,000
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $76,900 – $102,100
