Explore a challenging opportunity as a Senior Drilling Engineer with Cenovus in the Delineation/Heavy Oil team. This key position centers on planning drilling programs and offering technical support for field operations.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Drilling Engineering, and lead drilling engineering initiatives across several Alberta assets, including Foster Creek and Christina Lake. Your responsibility includes designing well operations that meet safety and environmental standards while actively managing costs. A collaborative mindset is crucial as you work alongside various cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct drilling engineering initiatives for Cenovus properties
• Develop drilling programs, including risk assessments and reporting
• Monitor operational performance to enhance efficiency
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
• Facilitate post-well reviews for improvement insights
Requirements:
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• P.Eng. with at least 8 years in drilling engineering
• Experience in thermal and heavy oil sectors
• Strong analytical skills in engineering decisions
• Proven leadership and mentoring ability
