Hatch is seeking a Project Engineer, Oil and Gas, to join our established team in Calgary. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, professional project environment. You will be able to create and execute project plans and have the leadership skills to build effective teams and relationships with clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs Project Engineer, Oil and Gas, you will assist the Project Manager in all PM functions and will:
- Collaborate with engineering staff to lead and deliver large-scale projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality and safety guidelines
- Supervise and participate in the development and approval of design procedures
- Interface with other teams, project managers, engineers, clients, and vendors to ensure effective interfaces across departments and individuals
- Participate in resolving conflicts affecting deliverables
- Provide and approve employees’ hour estimates for projects and track performance
- Review, audit, and authenticate the work of subordinate personnel in line with professional association guidelines
- Provide leadership in quality management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote safe work practices and ensure employees conduct their work in accordance with company safety policies
- Participate in proposal presentations and business development activities
- Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) with APEGA
- 5–10+ years of project engineering or engineering management experience
- Experience managing the engineering, procurement, and construction of large-scale projects
- Experience in mid-stream projects such as tank terminals, pump stations, and custody transfer facilities is a key asset
- Ability to generate and foster client relationships in a fast-paced, competitive environment
- Able to provide technical support and solutions to complex issues
- Solution-driven and able to manage yourself and others
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills to build relationships with project teams and clients
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
- Safety certificates such as WHMIS, Standard First Aid, and H2S Alive are assets and may be required depending on the project
- Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
