Working with a multi-disciplinary team of Geoscientists, Development Engineers, field staff and other company professionals, you will learn to use proven subsurface engineering methods and field operations in an environment that encourages innovative ideas to be tried and tested. The thermal business area competes strongly for development, re‑development and strategic workovers and is set to remain a high‑impact, high‑activity area for Canadian Natural.

- Work directly with a multi‑disciplined team to bring projects forward from concept to an on‑stream state to maximize the value of the asset
- Monitor and optimize reservoir performance and recovery strategies for Canadian Natural assets
- Develop, maintain, and monitor well and formation integrity programs
- Evaluate, recommend, plan and execute on well completions
- Provide effective regular project updates and technical evaluation reports for senior management
- Incorporate relevant regulatory and environmental requirements into asset development plans
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Energy or Petroleum Engineering is preferred
- 4 to 15 years of engineering experience; with APEGA registration as a P.Eng
- Demonstrated problem‑solving, communication, organization and leadership skills
- Experience operating thermal pads or within conventional petroleum fields is considered an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; enthusiasm for data analytics and visualization; experience with Excel VBA, Tableau, Power BI, Python is considered an asset
- Knowledge of related disciplines is an asset: drilling, completions and facilities engineering; artificial lift systems (rod pumps, gas lift, ESP); subsurface wellbore/liner design; thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
- Team player who enjoys problem solving, is driven and eager to learn, and has excellent communication and organization skills
- Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
