Commissioning Program & Data Engineer
Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Commissioning Program & Data Engineer is responsible for turning the commissioning and OFCI effort into a controlled, data driven program. This role maintains the commissioning plan and L level matrix, tracks test execution and defects, and produces meaningful status and analytics that give leadership and owners a clear view of readiness and risk while capturing data to improve future projects.
WhatYou Will Be Working On
- Own the commissioning plan and matrix: systems, levels (L1–L3, track L4 & L5), responsibilities, and status.
- Track execution of tests and commissioning milestones, ensuring that reported progress reflects actual test results and readiness, not just scheduled activities.
- Maintain structured issue logs for commissioning and OFCI, assigning owners, deadlines, and tracking closure.
- Build and maintain Cx dashboards and reports for internal leadership and the owner, highlighting critical path items, blockers, and residual risks.
- Capture and analyze commissioning data: durations, failure rates, retest counts, vendor performance, to inform continuous improvement and future project planning.
- Support documentation of commissioning artifacts: test scripts, reports, turnover packages, lessons learned.
- Work closely with all Cx leads (OFCI, Fab, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls) to ensure data and status reflect reality in the field and fab.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with experience in project controls, data analysis, or program management, ideally in construction or commissioning.
- Ability to understand commissioning concepts (L‑levels, pre‑functional vs functional vs IST) and translate them into practical schedules and status metrics.
- Comfortable working with technical teams and translating field reality into clean, actionable data and reports.
- High attention to detail and a bias toward fact‑based reporting rather than optimistic narratives.
- Strong communication skills for creating concise, executive‑friendly views of complex information.
- 5+ years in project controls, data analysis, commissioning program support, or similar roles on large construction or infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of scheduling tools (Primavera/MSP), Cx platforms, and reporting/BI tools (Excel, Power BI, similar).
- Background in engineering, construction management, or a technical discipline is preferred.
- Prior exposure to data centre or mission‑critical environments is a plus.
