Position: Contract Project Planner / Scheduler

Senior Project Planner / Scheduler – Lead Integrated EPC Project Scheduling for Major Capital Energy Projects

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting a Contract Project Planner / Scheduler in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Engineering & Construction sector based in Calgary, Alberta. The role supports major capital projects and operating assets within a complex industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, integrate, and maintain LevelI–IV project schedules.
  • Perform schedule analysis, forecasting, critical‑path, variance, and risk analysis.
  • Ensure consistent planning standards across all project phases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project, engineering, and construction teams.
  • Support high‑profile projects, providing schedule performance insights and risk identification.
  • Manage schedule changes through established project controls processes.
  • Prepare schedule reports, KPIs, resource histograms, and progress analyses.
  • Contribute to planning and scheduling standardization initiatives and continuous improvement of planning procedures, templates, and standards.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of project scheduling experience on major capital projects.
  • Advanced expertise using Primavera P6.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC project execution, work breakdown structures, and project controls.
  • Experience with schedule health checks, resource loading, manpower forecasting, and cost integration.
  • Proficiency with schedule risk analysis tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran, or equivalent.
  • Industrial project experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Compensation & Employment Details
  • Hourly rate: $85.00 – $105.00.
  • Contract length:
    Initial 12‑month contract with potential extension opportunities.
  • Location:

    Calgary, Alberta (Monday to Friday, office‑based).
  • Salary includes preferred benefits coverage rates.
