Material Coordinator

* Please note that this role is based in-office in Calgary and, hence, we will only be considering local candidates. This role is a contract till June 2027 and the expected start date is early to mid-July.

About the Role The office-based Material Coordinator is responsible for managing all the activities necessary to enable effective end-to-end coordination of materials in support. Reporting to the Manager of Material Coordination and Project Support, the successful candidate will work with Project Managers, Project Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain (SC) Contract Analysts, SC Buyers, SC Expediting & Logistics, and other key stakeholder positions to enable efficient and effective identification, requisitioning and coordination of materials required for Projects.

The core accountability of this role is to ensure that project materials are delivered on time and to the correct location to support project timelines.

What You’ll Do

Incorporate material lead time estimates from SC and develop a schedule for placing material orders in time to meet the project schedule.

Review Technical Drawings with a high level of attention to detail.

Review Bill of Material (BOM) with Project Engineer to identify materials to be supplied by thepany, its Fabricators, or its Construction Contractor. Typical milestones where this occurs include 30%, 60%, and 90% design, and a final review of IFCs to confirm all materials are captured in the Material Coordinators tracking sheet.

Coordinate design deliverables from Project Engineering or the ESP to SC for the timely occurrence of Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and subsequent awards according to the Material Matrix schedule.

Work with the Materials Management and Warehouse team to identify available inventory and r surplus materials.

Create SAP purchase requisitions (and/or SAP reservations for materials in inventory) based on design Bills of Materials provided by Project Engineering.

Create a request for a new Material Master if the existing SAP material catalogue does not provide appropriate alternatives.

Monitor and assist with materials expediting of criticalponents

Work with project disciplines (Engineering, Purchasing, Expediting, Logistics, Warehousing, Fabrication, and Construction) to update the Material Status Report with quantities, timelines, and material whereabouts.

Help locate documents and records, including Material Test Records (MTRs), associated with project materials which are required in support of construction andmissioning activities. Resolve material discrepancies (e.g., quantities, quality, or supporting documentation) within each functional group

Work with expeditors to anticipate issues relating to materials (i.e., late deliveries, material shortages, or damages) and develop and execute recovery plans.

Ensure Supplier and Fabricator deliveries are expedited on a predetermined schedule to ensure RAS (required at site) dates are met

Provide a field-based construction team with relevant documentation

Instruct the warehouse to release and issue the materials to the fabricator, or from the fabricator to the site's lay-down, yard and ultimately, to the construction. Contractor

Coordinate physical receipt of materials at the warehouse, project site, lay down yard, fabricator and r construction contractor.

Enter Goods Receipts for all items in SAP (except those delivered to thepany's warehouses – warehouse personnel will typically handle)

Identify surplus materials to be transferred to inventory and/or investment recovery

Minimum Qualifications

5 years related experience in a project environment within the oil and gas, pipeline, or power industries

Past material management (coordination, buying, logistics etc) experience

General knowledge of materials and equipment used in pipeline and facilities construction

Ability to manage multiple high priority projects andpeting priorities

Preferred Qualifications

Post-Secondary Education in a related field

Experience with in the oil and gas, pipeline, or power industries

Experience with piping materials, valves, and fittings

Ability to read engineered design drawings and Bill of Materials

Superiorputer skills, particularly experience with relevant SAP system modules, including advanced training in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, and a highly proficient SAP user (requisitioning & receiving)
