Position: Calgary Principal Engineer Metallurgy Role
Join a leading oil and gas company as a Principal Metallurgical Engineer in Calgary, Alberta. This position emphasizes technical leadership in metallurgy and materials across complex capital projects.

As a Principal Metallurgical Engineer under a 1-year contract, you will leverage your extensive experience to enhance materials selection, oversee corrosion control, and mentor junior engineers.

Your role is pivotal in ensuring technical integrity throughout project life cycles in conventional energy and emerging sectors like hydrogen and CCUS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead metallurgical and materials engineering deliverables

• Guide material selection and integrity management strategies

• Conduct expert peer reviews and provide technical assurance

• Support project execution through technical input and collaboration

• Conduct site visits and investigate materials degradation issues

Requirements:

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field

• P.Eng. registration eligibility with APEGA

• Significant experience in materials engineering in the industry

• Knowledge of corrosion mitigation and failure analysis

• Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM, and NACE/AMPP standards
