Substation Electrical Designer Position at Qualus

The Electrical Designer position, reporting to the Engineering Manager - Substations, involves designing high and low voltage electrical systems for substation projects. With a focus on safety and compliance, you will create detailed specifications for various systems, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create design documents for substations ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV

• Develop load calculations and cable scheduling

• Specify lighting, fire, and security system designs

• Review engineering documents to meet project specifications

• Prepare procurement materials for project implementation

Requirements:

• Electrical Engineering Technology Degree with C.E.T designation

• 5-12 years’ experience in electrical design

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Micro Station, and design software

• Background in fire detection and security design

• Excellent understanding of CSA and IEEE standards
