Senior Structural Engineer

Overview

A Senior Structural Engineer is sought to help lead buildings projects (commercial, institutional, light industrial facilities, such as water and wastewater treatment plants and sewage lift stations). This position can be based out of Calgary or Edmonton with opportunities for hybrid work. Some travel to nearby cities may be required. This role offers opportunities for career growth. The team spans architecture, all building engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.

Project assignments may include municipal, commercial, institutional, justice, education and government projects.

• Independently perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
• Prepare technical specifications and contribute to project documentation.
• Prepare structural analysis and calculation reports.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project execution.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate structure’s conditions and provide recommendations.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations with little supervision.
• Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EITs and technicians.
• Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.
