Position: AUTOMATION PROFESSIONAL
Description:

As an automation professional, the desired applicant will share our vision to provide industry-leading services to our clients. A diverse background in automation and control system planning, design, programming, and maintenance is required, along with at least three years of experience in automation and controls. The successful applicant will work with our Automation and Controls team in Calgary, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

Program and test PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems

On-site commissioning and start-up

Support Clients by troubleshooting control systems via remote access or on-site

Work and coordinate with contractors

Assist in control system design

Assess existing control systems

Develop control system upgrade strategies

Implement/specify secure network and remote access schemes

Educate clients

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution

2 years of experience preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Background in electrical and instrumentation systems

Experience with a variety of automation software and hardware systems considered an asset, including:

Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, Emerson, Horner, Automation Direct PLCsVTScada, iFIX, Ignition, Factory Talk, AVEVA SCADA software

Red Lion, Maple, Allen Bradley, Automation Direct HMIsCellular and spread spectrum radio communication infrastructure

Control system networking, VPN, Routers, Switches, OT infrastructure

Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team

Willingness to travel to support maintenance and commissioning tasks

The individual must be self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team. Since MPE will consider junior and senior candidates, the salary range depends on the experience of the candidate.
