PositionSummary
The Work Package Chief – Mechanical coordinates integrated execution of aircraft mechanical systems engineering activities within assigned DHC work packages. The role provides technical coordination across engineering disciplines without direct reports.
Direct Accountabilities- Coordinate ECS, hydraulic, fuel, landing gear, and mechanical systems engineering deliverables.
- Support technical integration between structures, systems installations, and production activities.
- Track certification activities, qualification testing, and engineering maturity.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical integration and installation issues.
- Coordinate supplier technical interactions and engineering issue resolution.
- Provide visibility into risks, schedules, dependencies, and technical priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Materials, or related Engineering discipline.
- Licensed or eligible for licensing as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
- Progressive aerospace engineering experience supporting aircraft development, certification, production, modification, or sustaining activities.
- Strong understanding of Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA regulatory requirements applicable to the role.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capability.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrates strong aerospace engineering judgement and technical credibility.
- Builds alignment and trust across Engineering, Production, Certification, and Program organizations.
- Drives accountability, execution discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Promotes practical, certifiable, manufacturable, and customer‑focused engineering solutions.
- Contributes to a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance engineering culture.
