Position: Test Specialist (Evening)

What You’ll Do

CoolIT Systems is seeking a full-time Test Specialist (CDU Mechanical) for the evening shift. In this role, you will support the testing and qualification of Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) systems by developing and executing verification and validation plans, test procedures, and protocols. Responsibilities include conducting design and product risk assessments, supporting prototype builds, developing test fixtures, integrating products into customer equipment, analyzing test data, preparing technical reports, and presenting results to cross‑functional teams.

Reporting to the Team Lead, CDU Test & Qualification, this position is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a hands‑on mechanical and electrical testing environment and is passionate about advancing liquid cooling technology.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and own test strategies, validation plans, and qualification roadmaps aligned with internal requirements and customer standards.
  • Define test scope, configurations, acceptance criteria, and risk‑based coverage for pumps, heat exchangers, PRVs, electrical, and fluid systems.
  • Translate system requirements into structured test plans, matrices, and execution frameworks; identify test gaps, constraints, and dependencies.
  • Conduct DFMEA‑driven design reviews to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate materials, tolerances, sealing concepts, and thermal/fluid performance; ensure design‑for‑test (DFT) and design‑for‑reliability (DFR) principles are applied.
  • Plan and oversee reliability and stress tests, including HALT, thermal cycling, pressure/flow, vibration, mechanical load, and leak testing under real‑world conditions.
  • Support test setup validation, instrumentation strategy, and data acquisition planning.
  • Develop and apply statistical data analysis frameworks (regression, variance, trend, Weibull) for performance and reliability assessment.
  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and normalization; convert results into actionable insights and engineering conclusions.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA implementation.
  • Create, review Non‑Conformance (NC) reports; review Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for validation impact, risks, and test requirements.
  • Prepare and present data‑driven technical reports, dashboards, and qualification summaries; communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to leadership and customers.
  • Provide feedback and guidance in Product Requirements Documents (PRD), System Requirements Documents (SRD), and design reviews, ensuring testability, thermal performance, and reliability considerations are incorporated early in design.
  • Participate in technical reviews, design gates, and provide with analytical feedback and drive continuous improvement.
Who You Are Basic Qualifications
  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of materials science, thermodynamics, fluid systems, and electro‑mechanical components.
  • Expertise in analyzing and optimizing heat transfer in mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in testing fluid flow and thermal behavior to support CDU Qualification and performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in statistics and data science or data analysis.
  • Hands‑on experience with instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow sensors), DAQs, and actuators.
  • Proficiency with bench test tools (oscilloscope, power analyzer, logic analyzer, multimeter, etc.).
  • Experience with embedded systems (PLCs, Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with control algorithms and PID tuning.
  • Programming experience (Python and/or C/C++).
  • Experience in mechanical hardware design in Solid Works or equivalent CAD programs is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, ISO, and reliability test standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data center liquid cooling systems.
  • Familiarity with Liquid cooling infrastructure.
  • Background in Mechanical and Electrical engineering.
Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple test programs, priorities, and timelines effectively.
  • Strong leadership and…
