Our energy & resources client is seeking a Senior Project Estimator to lead capital cost estimating for major capital projects across project development and execution phases, and managing contractor-generated estimates and estimate validations

Calgary-based office,. Hybrid work schedule of 4 days
-in office, and 1 day WFH

Must Haves

  • 10+ years of experience as a project estimator leading estimating for major capital projects
  • 5+ years leading capital cost estimates across project development and execution phases (Stage 1 to Stage
    4)
  • Experience managing contractor-generated estimates and estimate validations
  • Experience in Energy
    , midstream
    , oil & gas
    , utilities
    , or petrochemical project estimating
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Business, or related discipline

    • Strong Nice-to-Have

  • AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP)
  • AACE Certified Estimating Professional (CEP)
  • PMP Certification
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
  • Eco Sys, Microsoft Excel (Advanced), or Power BI

    • Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of conceptual, screening, and Class VI through Class III cost estimates for capital projects
  • Develop detailed estimate development plans and estimate basis documentation
  • Review engineering deliverables, project scope documents, and contractor submissions to validate quantities and manhours
  • Lead estimate risk assessments, contingency development, and Monte Carlo analysis activities where applicable
  • Coordinate bid requests and review contractor and vendor quotations
  • Support business case development, capital approval submissions, and project stage-gate reviews
  • Develop and maintain estimating procedures, standards, templates, and benchmarking metrics
