Your OpportunityThe Canada West Energy and Resources team has an exciting opportunity for a junior Pipeline Drafter to join our established and supportive team. As a Pipeline Drafter, you will work with support and close guidance on tasks for projects in a team environment on a variety of projects. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment and learn new skills.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Apply diversified knowledge of design principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields
- Maintain drafting processes and procedures to follow and apply commonly used drafting concepts, practices, procedures and policies within the resource industry
- Assist more experienced draftspersons on complex projects
- Set up and preparation of engineering drawing plans, sections, profiles and details in compliance with Client’s CAD standards and protocols
- Preform self checks on produced work
- Produce high quality drawings and drawing sets in the appropriate software
- Assist the design team in drawing development
Creating and revising Bills of Materials (BOMs) - Working with and creating scalable CAD drawings
- Strong communication skills for written and verbal interactions
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems
- Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, or layouts from sketches
- Operate CAD equipment efficiently
- Check and verify drawings to ensure they conform to Spec.
- Must be organized and be able to complete tasks within timeframe provided
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate from accredited design or drafting post secondary program.
- Minimum of 0-1 years of experience.

Pay TransparencyIn compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
