Job Overview
Bell’s AI Fabric initiative is pioneering a secure, sovereign AI compute network across Canada. As MEP / Module Director you will lead the delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for large‑scale data centers, overseeing design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning to mission‑critical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end delivery of all MEP systems (power distribution, UPS, generators, chilled water, high-density/liquid cooling, controls) across assigned data centre builds.
- Own the modular and off-site manufacturing strategy, driving prefabrication, skidded systems, and modular delivery to compress schedule and improve quality.
- Manage MEP contractors, module vendors, and fabrication partners, holding them accountable to scope, quality, cost, safety, and milestone commitments.
- Own MEP schedule, budget and quality outcomes, integrating field and off-site fabrication timelines into the master construction sequence.
- Ensure MEP design intent is executed to mission‑critical standards, partnering on LOD design classification and detailed engineering handoffs from A/E to GC.
- Lead MEP commissioning, validating power, cooling and resiliency systems through FAT, SAT and integrated systems testing.
- Champion a zero‑incident safety culture across MEP and modular installation activities, ensuring full regulatory and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, program controls, procurement and asset management to align MEP delivery with capacity plans and standards.
- Drive change governance, risk management and issue resolution across MEP scope, escalating proactively to Capital Programs leadership.
- Build, mentor and scale a high‑performing MEP/modular delivery team as the national program grows.
- 12+ years of leading MEP delivery on large-scale construction programmes, with direct experience in hyperscale or mission‑critical data centres (100MW+ preferred).
- Proven track record delivering modular/off‑site manufactured MEP systems (prefabrication, skids, modular electrical/mechanical rooms).
- Deep technical expertise in data centre M/E systems—power distribution, UPS, generators, switch gear, chilled water and high‑density/liquid cooling.
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes, including FAT/SAT, LOD design classification and integrated systems testing.
- Experience managing specialised MEP contractors, module fabricators and vendor supply chains.
- Command of schedule and cost management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) integrating off‑site and on‑site sequencing.
- Demonstrated safety leadership on active, complex MEP installation sites.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams and influence senior engineering, contractor and executive stakeholders.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline; P.Eng., PMP or commissioning certification (e.g., ACG/CxA) an asset.
- Willingness to be on‑site and travel between Canadian build locations and fabrication facilities as the portfolio scales.
