As a key member of the Tailings Practice group at Hatch, you will lead a multi-discipline team on tailings storage facility design projects. This senior position demands strong technical skills, particularly in geotechnical modeling and analysis, to address challenges like slope stability and pore pressure generation. You will collaborate with engineers and specialists to develop effective solutions that enhance mining sustainability in North America.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and analyze tailings storage facilities
• Lead geotechnical studies and prepare engineering reports
• Solve complex geotechnical challenges for mining projects
• Manage field investigation and laboratory testing programs
• Mentor junior engineers in best practices
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering
• 12 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering
• Professional engineering license in Ontario, Canada
• Proficiency in Geo Studio or Rocscience software
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual preferred
