Graham is actively recruiting a Commissioning Specialist or Commissioning Coordinator to assist our Senior Commissioning Specialist and project teams in delivering full-cycle commissioning services for water and wastewater projects. Depending on experience, the successful candidate will provide technical and coordination support from project pursuit and commissioning strategy through construction completion, pre-startup, startup, testing, final commissioning, training, and turnover. The role helps ensure facilities are started, tested, and commissioned in a systematic and progressive manner to meet design requirements and support operational readiness.

Working knowledge of the core elements of construction projects is required. Preference will be given to candidates with General Contractor and Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant construction experience.

Your Role in Building What Matters - From Office to Site
  • Support commissioning from construction completion through startup, testing, training, and turnover for water and wastewater facilities, ensuring schedule, safety, and quality standards are met.
  • Support pursuits with technical clarifications, commissioning strategy, estimates, schedule input, proposals, presentations, and client interviews.
  • Support commissioning strategies, plans, schedules, processes, checklists, procedures, test forms, and related documentation.
  • Participate in commissionability and Process Control Narrative reviews to identify and close configuration gaps.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing planning, review, witnessing, tracking, and reporting for critical equipment, software, and control systems.
  • Coordinate system-based completion with Construction and Quality, including walkdowns, quality records, deficiency management, and readiness verification.
  • Align stakeholders on commissioning sequence, test limits, acceptance criteria, responsibilities, protocols, permits, and isolations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate commissioning activities with owners, operators, consultants, contractors, vendors, and system integrators.
  • Perform or coordinate multidiscipline inspections and tests to ensure performance at equipment, system, and facility level.
  • Support field control testing, device configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning issue resolution.
  • Coordinate and support vendor, operator, and maintenance training activities as part of facility turnover.
  • Manage commissioning records, turnover documentation, deficiencies, O&M information, training records, and handover packages.
  • Prepare reports, progress updates, look-aheads, risk and issue summaries, and stakeholder status updates.
  • Support the delivery of facilities that meet design requirements and achieve operational readiness for the Owner's Operations and Maintenance teams.
  • Support consistent commissioning standards, templates, reporting, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across Water projects.
The Right Tools for the Job
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, instrumentation technology, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of construction experience, preferably with a General Contractor; commissioning experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of project management and construction fundamentals, including cost, contracts, schedules, drawings, quality, safety, scope, and risk.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, P&IDs, diagrams, control narratives, submittals, vendor documents, redlines, and commissioning requirements.
  • Knowledge of electrical, construction, environmental, isolation, LOTO, and safe work requirements.
