Position: Senior Project Engineer at TransAlta
Take on a pivotal role with Trans Alta as a Senior Project Engineer. Lead the Centralia Coal to Gas project through all phases, ensuring project success and technical excellence.
Trans Alta is seeking a Senior Project Engineer based in Calgary for its Centralia CTG project. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, especially in large capital projects. You will provide technical leadership, oversee engineering activities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee engineering and procurement activities for project execution

• Serve as liaison among contractors, suppliers, and project teams

• Participate in design reviews and safety assessments

• Monitor contractor performance and manage technical risks

• Support construction, troubleshooting, and equipment handovers
Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; P.Eng. designation in Alberta

• 8-12 years of experience in project engineering roles

• Strong understanding of contractor oversight and project execution

• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in Alberta and the U.S.
