Senior Field Engineer; bridges

Overview

In Canada, our Bridge department has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Québec City. AtkinsRéalis also has a large international presence with over 700 bridges professionals globally, and involvement in some of the most complex structures in the world. The Bridges Department – Western Region, is looking for a Senior Project Manager (Bridges) for our team in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Manager, Major Bridges & West Region, the Senior Bridge Engineer will be responsible for leading bridges and structural engineering projects.

This will include the development, analysis, design, evaluation, inspection, and execution of various projects.

• Lead a structural design team for a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
• Applying advanced engineering techniques and tools for solution of complex engineering challenges.
• Directing, coaching, supporting and guiding employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects.
• Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Preparation of proposals and participation in business development including publications and conferences.
• Preparing structural designs and evaluations, and contract packages for ATEC, City of Calgary and other key Clients, including current policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.
• Provide construction support and perform site visits as needed on active construction projects.

• Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a Structural major). Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, type of bridge, size and scope.
• Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Code.
• Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS and Microsoft Office applications.
