About the job:

Kent is looking for a Senior Telecom Engineer to support upcoming FEED, detailed engineering, and brownfield/greenfield scopes for client proposals and execution projects in the Edmonton region. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in industrial telecommunications systems, proven P.Eng experience in Alberta, and the ability to interface effectively with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. This role will support telecom system design, troubleshooting, integration, and field support for complex industrial facilities.

We are also open to candidates based out of our Calgary or Sarnia offices.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Telecom Engineering & Technical Support

• Develop and review telecom system design packages, including data, voice, fiber optic, wireless, PAGA and security systems
• Work as Telecom Lead Engineer on FEED, Detailed Engineering, and execution phases for brownfield and greenfield projects
• Perform system integration reviews and technical evaluations
• Provide troubleshooting support for telecom network and communication system issues
• Conduct field verifications, constructability reviews, and final walkdowns

System Design & Documentation

• Prepare and review telecom system specifications, datasheets, and scope of work documents
• Develop network architecture diagrams, block diagrams, cable routing drawings, fiber allocation and wiring termination diagrams
• Ensure documentation aligns with client standards and regulatory requirements
• Support telecom design calculations, including bandwidth, network load, and redundancy planning

• Interface with vendors and sub-contractors for technical clarifications and equipment evaluations
• Review vendor documentation, technical submittals, FAT/SAT documentation, and test results
