We are looking for talented individuals to join our June 2027 new-hire cohort. Our structured group onboarding program provides a strong foundation in the energy industry and our firm before new hires transition into their respective teams and are paired with experienced mentors.

As an Evaluation Engineer-in-Training within our North American Reserves Group
, you will gain exposure to high-profile projects and emerging opportunities across the energy sector. You will receive significant training and mentorship designed to support your technical development, professional growth, and long-term success with the Company. You will be exposed to engineering, finance, and software development opportunities.

McDaniel is an internationally recognized and established independent oil and gas consulting firm based in Calgary and established over 70 years ago in 1955. Expertise and consulting services are provided in petroleum geology and reservoir engineering, reserves estimation, technical studies and economic evaluations.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will gain hands-on exposure to:

  • Technical forecasting of well performance based on reservoir engineering and geological principles
  • Data analytics in support of technical forecasts
  • Economic analysis of lease operating and capital statements
  • Evaluations and reporting of oil and gas reserves and resources for reporting purposes
  • Understanding the macro energy market and what makes it works
  • Significant email, phone, and meeting interaction with clients
  • Project Management of numerous clients and deadlines
Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a top-performing recent graduate who brings:

  • Problem solving mentality and desire to understand the "why" and "how" of complex issues
  • Experience working with data to identify root problems and build solutions
  • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to register as an E.I.T. with APEGA
  • Willing to work in-person from our Calgary office
