A key producer client is seeking a Pipeline Asset Integrity Engineer for a one‑year contract supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of pipeline assets across their upstream portfolio. This role interfaces closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Technical Safety, and corporate Safety groups, providing exposure to all technical elements of pipeline integrity management.
You will contribute to inspection programs, corrosion mitigation strategies, risk assessments, and long‑range integrity planning. This is a high‑impact technical role with strong visibility across multiple stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities- Risk Management & Assessment Apply risk‑based assessment methodologies to maintain pipeline assets at acceptable safety, environmental, regulatory, reliability, and economic risk levels.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work with Operations, Production, Engineering, and Management to conduct asset reviews and develop multiyear Risk Management Plans aligned with regional development initiatives.
- Budgeting & Program Planning Develop and support approval of annual pipeline integrity budgets, engaging internal stakeholders across assigned geographic areas.
- Corrosion Mitigation Programs Coordinate with vendors to establish and validate chemical corrosion mitigation programs for dynamic assets, including programs tied to active drilling operations.
- Inspection & Repair Recommendations Identify high‑risk pipelines and prepare recommendations for inspection, repair, replacement, and mitigation activities. Support budgeting, scoping, and execution with stakeholders.
- Data Analysis & Performance Trending Analyze inspection, monitoring, and sampling data to model corrosion rates, assess asset performance, and proactively identify end‑of‑life pipelines.
- Engineering Assessments Draft, review, and approve technical Engineering Assessments in accordance with CSA Z662 requirements.
- Incident Investigation Support Participate in incident investigations and root‑cause analyses, providing technical recommendations to prevent recurrence and strengthen integrity controls.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of Pipeline Integrity experience, ideally within upstream oil & gas.
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA, or eligible.
- Technical Certifications (Assets): NACE/AMPP corrosion certifications API 510 / 570 / 653 or other integrity‑related credentials
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of CSA Z662
, provincial and federal regulatory directives, and pipeline integrity best practices. - Operational
Skills:
Experience with pipeline inspection, maintenance coordination, and integrity program execution. - Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite Integrity management systems such as Accumap
