Key Responsibilities:
Production & Operations
Monitor and optimize oil, gas, and water production across the asset base.
Troubleshoot production, artificial lift, gathering system, facility, and pipeline issues.
Investigate production losses and implement corrective action plans.
Provide day-to-day engineering support to field operations personnel.
Support pipelines, oil satellite, battery, and gas plant operations through performance analysis and optimization initiatives.
Assist with drilling, completion, tie-in, and production activities, providing engineering input and recommendations.
Work with the Production Accounting group to ensure field setups, allocations, and reporting are accurate and aligned with operational changes.
Well Interventions & Workovers
Lead well intervention and workover activities for the asset.
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize optimization opportunities.
Conduct full technical reviews of failed and underperforming wells and develop remediation plans.
Design and program well interventions including pump changes, tubing replacements, stimulations, recompletions, wireline, and workover operations.
Prepare AFEs, cost estimates, risk assessments, and execution programs.
Coordinate contractors, consultants, and service providers.
Provide supervision and engineering oversight during operations.
Track costs against approved budgets and AFEs and provide regular reporting to management.
Conduct post-job reviews and evaluate production and economic results.
Safety & Regulatory
Act as a safety leader throughout the organization, supporting operations, reinforcing our valves, and maintaining accountability.
Participate in Management of Change (MOC) and hazard assessment processes.
Support budgeting, capital planning, and reserve evaluations.
Ensure compliance with AER regulations and company standards. This includes wellbore inspections (D-13), packer isolation tests, surface casing vent flows, pressure work, and emissions.
Participate in incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor of Engineering degree, Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with APEGA.
5-10 years of production engineering experience within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
Strong knowledge of: production operations and optimization, artificial lift systems, well interventions and workovers, Oil batteries, satellites, and gas processing facilities, pipeline and gathering systems.
Proven experience managing field operations and service contractors.
Highly organized and self-motivated.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License and willingness to travel regularly to field locations.
Preferred
Experience with light oil and oil-weighted assets is preferred
Experience working at a junior or intermediate producing company.
Working knowledge of Production Manager, geoSCOUT, SCADA systems, RODSTAR, Petrinex, Petrosight, and Microsoft Office.
